The 3rd Annual Miles-4-Major 5K Race    June 8, 2013

“Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes!”

-
1 Samuel 12:16

Our mission at Miles-4-Major is to raise financial support for families of hearing impaired children through family-centered outreach events such as the Annual Miles-4-Major 5K Race.

Miles-4-Major is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and financial support for families who have young children with hearing loss and are in need of hearing aids.

Hearing aids in most cases are not covered by insurance companies, and unless families receive government assistance such as Medicaid or funding from a private organization, they are forced to pay out of pocket. The average hearing aid for a child costs $1000-$4000 per ear. Ear molds, which are needed every four to five months as the child grows, are an additional cost. This places unnecessary burden and financial strain on families as they are going through the already difficult time of accepting that their child may have communication deficits while managing speech therapies, audiology appointments, etc. Miles-4-Major exists to serve the community through family-centered activities and financial outreach.
